Kilkenny Castle Park:
Magnificent park with its splendid castle, beautiful rose garden, fountain, walkways, acres of parkland, lake and fabulous children’s playground. Tours of the castle have an admission charge of €6 for adults, concessions €4 and children over six €2.50, but everything else is free.
St. Canice’s Cathedral:
In the words of one visitor, “The cathedral itself is beautiful, but the Tower really makes your visit. The views are spectacular, and hey you are in a Round Tower (pretend you are hiding from the Vikings!) – if you can only see one thing in Kilkenny, make St. Canice’s your stop!”

Whatever your swimming ability The Watershed has an option for you. If you love to swim, this state of the art swimming complex is the perfect place to perfect your technique. The specially designed learner pool gives new swimmers the opportunity to grow in confidence before graduating to the full size pool. And for the young and the young at heart, the Fun Pool is the best place to wallow in the water.
Castlecomer Discovery Park:
Just a little over ten minutes “out the road” from Meadow Way, this is one of the most popular destinations for school tours in Kilkenny. It has something for all in the family: kids’ adventure playground and Tree-Tops park, nature walks, fishing, craft shops, cafe, gift shop, and “Footprints in Coal” an an interactive multimedia display that takes the visitor on a 300 year journey through the history of coal-mining.
